Mediation is a facilitative process where a neutral mediator helps the parties communicate, identify issues, and work toward a mutually acceptable agreement. The mediator does not make decisions but guides the conversation to promote understanding and cooperation. This approach empowers both parties to find practical, fair solutions together.

The process begins with a short intake to understand your needs, followed by signing an LDA contract. Drafts are prepared for your review, and once approved, documents are finalized and filed with the court if needed.

LDAs must be registered with the county clerk. You can also search the California Association of Legal Document Assistants (CALDA) at www.calda.org to find qualified professionals.

The cost of services depends on the complexity of the documents and the level of skill required. Family law document preparation generally ranges from $550 to $2,500, not including court filing or mediation fees. Civil matters, such as breach of contract or eviction cases, typically range from $700 to $2,000, depending on the specific circumstances. Our deed preparation package includes preparation of the cover sheet, change of ownership form, and deed, as well as notarization and filing. Fees vary by deed type and range from $550 to $900.
